JFS Express provides transportation services for local seniors to medical appointments.

Far too often, Valley seniors miss regular doctor visits for the very simple reason that they have no means of transportation.

Many seniors either live on a fixed income and cannot afford a car or have physical infirmities that prevent them from driving. The local public transportation system is not well developed and taxi service can be prohibitively expensive. It is inadvisable for an elderly person to wait outside for a bus when temperatures can remain well over 100 degrees for almost five months a year.

Consequently, minor ailments that could have been treated early can intensify into life threatening conditions requiring an Emergency Room visit.

JFS Express was created in 2008 to address this very basic, yet very prevalent, barrier to care.  JFS Express relies on volunteer drivers to provide transportation to seniors.
