PALM DESERT, CA…February 18, 2008 --- Still receiving rave reviews from his 2007 production, producer Michael Childers will reprise the hugely successful musical review “One Night Only” at the McCallum Theatre for the Performing Arts on Thursday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m. This stellar evening will comprise the legendary performances of a who’s who of Broadway and Hollywood. The talented cast includes Susan Anton, Kaye Ballard, Brent Barrett, Kate Burton, Loretta Devine, Jason Graae, Suzanna Guzman, Jake Heggie, Sally Kellerman, Lorenzo Lamas, Michele Lee, Sean McDermott, Freda Payne, Cathy Rigby, Kevin Spirtas, Bruce Vilanch, Patricia Welch AND direct from London, "First Lady of British Musical Theatre," Elaine Paige will light up the McCallum stage. Musical direction of “One Night Only” will be by the incomparable Ron Abel with a 9-piece orchestra. Performer line-up subject to change. Renowned director Stuart Ross will once again work with Mr. Childers as the show’s director who created and directed the long-running musical Forever Plaid. Throughout the past five years, Michael Childers has developed a reputation as one of the most successful producers of charitable fundraisers in the Valley. The first “One Night Only” was held in May 2002, with Lily Tomlin hosting a sold out evening at the McCallum Theatre and again in 2007 with 5-time Emmy winner Doris Roberts as the host. Proceeds from this evening will benefit the Jewish Family Service of the Desert (JFS). Since its inception as part of the Jewish Federation of Palm Springs in 1982, JFS has grown—not just in size, but in its ability to serve the Coachella Valley. Jewish Family Service is a caring refuge and resource for people of all faiths who are seeking guidance, comfort and support during difficult times.
