Programs & Services / JFS Helps Children Attend Summer Camps

For many years, Jewish Family Service has helped area children attend various residential summer camps in California. The Sam and Lottie Rosenthal Fund provides two types of camp scholarships. The deadline for applications is March 31.

One $500 merit-based scholarship is available. JFS awards them based on leadership and/or community service. The money can be used at a child's camp of choice. Anyone may nominate a child by writing a letter describing his/her leadership abilities and community service. Nomination letters should be sent to the agency.

The Camp Experience Scholarship. This fund provides scholarships, based on need, for Jewish children to attend Southern California's outstanding Jewish residential summer camps. Call the agency for applications.

JFS also can help in obtaining and completing specific camp applications. There are a variety of quality residential summer camps in Southern California that are available to Jewish children ranging in age from eight to 18.
