The JFS Intensive Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Program is open to teens in the Coachella Valley ages 12 to 18 who are abusing, misusing or addicted to substances such as marijuana, methamphetamines, alcohol, prescription drugs, and other substances.

The Intensive Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Program teaches teens about the physical and psychological consequences of substances so that they may minimize and eventually stop substance use. Certified drug and alcohol counselors provide instruction in anger management, avoiding peer pressure, communication skills, goals, boundaries, life skills, the consequences of abuse, and relapse prevention.

Treatment is centered around an intensive group counseling program that meets three afternoons each week. An additional weekly session enables family members to participate.

The program was started in 2008 due to a lack of local treatment programs for youth.

There is no charge for participants.
