Big Pal/Little Pal Mentoring

Jewish Family Service of the Desert established the first Jewish Big Pal Program in the desert at the beginning of 2007. Big Pal mentors must be at least 21-years-old and are asked to commit to the program for at least a year. Twice a month meetings for at least three hours each time and weekly phone calls are at the heart of the program.

Each volunteer mentor goes through a process that begins and ends with the safety of the child. Background checks are done on each adult volunteer. Ongoing supervision and support is provided for each match.
